Protection of the Oceans and the challenge of Plastic and Microplastic Pollution in the Region.
The initiative will seek dialogue between leaders, in addition to the integration of scientific knowledge to address pollution.
This April 3, 4 and 5, the Rapa Nui 2024 Pacific Leaders Summit will be held, an organized international event that seeks to bring together leaders from various islands and coastal territories of the Pacific to promote a series of actions against plastic pollution and microplastic in the Pacific Ocean.
The world’s oceans, particularly the vast and unexplored Pacific Ocean, face an urgent and shared crisis: plastic pollution, microplastics and the degradation of their marine ecosystems. The presence of plastics and microplastics in waters and the threat they represent to marine life and human health are challenges that require a coordinated and global response.
It will not only be a reflection event, but a milestone in global action against plastic pollution.
By sharing experiences, knowledge and commitments, we will lay the foundation for a sustainable and clean future for our beloved Pacific Ocean.
United, we will be the voice of change.
