Get to know our culture through various activities in our internal programs

Crafts Workshop

Make your own flower crown or shell necklace with artisans who, in addition to teaching you the technique, will tell you about their Rapa Nui life and culture. In small groups you will be able to share and learn about their daily life.

Polynesian dance

Most of the Rapa Nui music, as well as the dances that we currently find on the Island, have a Polynesian origin. The ancestral dances have been lost or merged, although it is still possible to find native music rooted in the legends transmitted orally and that are songs and dances dedicated to the gods, the warrior spirits, the rain or love. Participate in the dance workshops and learn about our magic and art.

Curanto Rapa Nui

Enjoy the traditional flavors of Polynesia. You will participate in the elaboration and tasting of the Rapa Nui umu or “curanto”. You will learn about the process and the traditional meanings of this preparation, with local ingredients and some from our own organic crops.

Viaje muy esperado Luego de haber estado en Hotel Vai Moana, llegamos a Cabañas Tokenrau, ya que tuvimos que quedarnos por la contingencia nacional, llegamos y todo cambió, luego de haber tenido una mala experiencia en el Hotel antes mencionado. Nos recibió Ivonne la dueña, una mujer encantadora, amable, sus cabañas muy lindas muy bien equipadas y grandes, limpias con servicio de mucama además tiene servicio de Renta Car, nos acogió muy bien y estabamos muy cómodos, compartimos con su hijo Eduardo, un joven encantador que nos contó varias historias de la Isla, él es guía, recomiendo 100% estas Cabañas, además nos llevaron al aeropuerto, quedamos muy satisfechos con sus servicios. Muchas gracias. La Isla es maravillosa, un lugar muy místico y llena de lugares hermosos. En las fotos su perrita Nala hermosa.

When we return to RapaNui with 2 other Grandchildren , we plan to reside again at Tokerau. RapaNui had been on our "to do" list for decades. We took our Granddaughters ages 20 and 18 to experience the beauty and history of the Island. The excellent hospitality of family owned and operated Cabanas Tokerau began upon our arrival at the RapaNui airport. We were greeted with traditional flower Leis, symbolizing love and friendship. Lalo, son of the owners Yvonne and Ecuardo, loaded our luggage into the clean and modern van for transport to the Cabanas. On the way to our lodging we were treated to a mini-tour ouf the town of Hanga Roa as Lalo pointed out the main areas of interest and stopped to give us a photo op of one of the Moai locations. Tokerau is a short ride out of "town", about 4 minutes, just far enough to be convenient yet quiet and rural. The property is lush with mature vegetation (some of the online photos are from an earlier time when the plantings were young and small). We were attracted by the garden setting and that the cabanas each had individual furnished lanais. The bottom floor of our building contained one 'apartment' and a large fully equipped kitchen/living room/dining area. The dining table seats 8 comfortably. Now for the unique surprise. Breakfast is included and is served at 9:00AM for the guests in each building, brought from the owners residence, where it has been prepared by owner Yvonne. You may have breakfast on the large lanai furnished for outdoor dining. This is a family oriented property and Eduardo makes you feel just like family. He will be happy give you advice on any feature of the Island-great restaurants, great shops, great places to visit. Speaking of family, full day or half day tours of the Island may be arranged with Lalo. We travel frequently to different and unusual locations. Lalo is among the very best guides we have experienced. You will appreciate your visit to RapaNui so much more with Lalo's tour. The property offers clean modern rentals cars on site. Advice · The Sebastian Englert Museum has an excellent collection of the tools used to carve the Moiai "statues", original carvings, and very informative movie and visual diplays, but it is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to schedule accordingly because it is something you would not want to miss.

Acogedoras cabañas en la isla 🗿🌴 Dentro de las muchas características que destaco de este lugar es que la principal anfitriona es la propia dueña, siempre con un trato amable y cercano, haciendo de nuestra estadía una semana muy grata y acogedora. Las cabañas tienen un toque familiar, son muy tranquilas, alejadas de la bulla del centro y con ese toque místico propio de la isla. Estas cabañas tienen servicio de limpieza a diario y los huéspedes tienen opción de desayuno. El centro de atracción más grande que tienen es poder ver el Sunset en el tahai a pocos pasos del lugar. Lo recomiendo a ojos cerrados!

Great locations with amazing guest family This is a family business operation, and we really loved interacting with the owners Eduardo and Yvonne. Not only are they very knowledgeable about the area and the local customs, but they are amazingly willing to help their guests make the most out of their visit. We took a full day tour of the island with Eduardo and Yvonne's oldest son, Lalo, and absolutely loved the experience; he's easily the best tour guide we've ever had. They're all wonderful kind people. The recommendations they gave us for places to eat were perfect. The place has an excellent location, close to the Rapa Nui museum (which is a highly recommended starting point), as well as a couple of important Ahu's (ceremonial platforms) which are amazing sunset viewpoints. It is about 5 min away from "downtown", yet it is in a secluded and peaceful area, making it perfect for those who are looking for place to rest. They also have a rent a car "in house", which turns out to be really convenient. They offer fair prices and have a good fleet. Each cabin has a common area, that might need to be shared with other guests, which is fully equipped for cooking. Rooms have their own private bathroom. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent place, host and guide The bungalows are in a very good location. If you are in a group, they are perfect and you can share a kitchen and living room. The hosts Eduardo and Yvonne are very sympathetic. Their son Lalo is an excellent guide with and extensive knowledge about the Island history and tradition and speaking excellent English.

Sejour repos et découverte Lieux excentrer du centre ville mais au calme ce que nous recherchions possibilité de louer directement sur place le véhicule (très pratique) logement spacieux avec un très grand jardin les propriétaires sont très accueillant et souriant et très sympathiques très bon conseil ils parlent toute les langues le petit déjeuner est servie dans les cabanas PS le petit déjeuner est très bon surtout quand il m était pas destiné (le propriétaire me reconnaîtras 😉

Family Owned Such a wonderful experience!!! Family owned and operated, makes you feel welcome. Friendly pick up from the airport, brief tour through the town on your way to the hostel then a detailed description on where to visit and where to eat. Delicious breakfast daily! Not particularly walking distance from the center city but that's exactly what we wanted. Nice remote location, walking distance to the ocean and Moai's.
